Charity Mwathi is a results-driven Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Specialist with a strong track record of driving high-impact initiatives across International and Governmental organizations. She brings expertise in strategic communications, policy-driven initiatives, and multimedia content production, with a strong focus on elevating youth voices and advancing the global development goals.

Currently serving as the Stakeholder Engagement Officer at the Commonwealth Secretariat, Charity leads strategic partnerships and designs multimedia campaigns for flagship International events including the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), Commonwealth Youth Awards and COP 28/29. Her work spans all 56 Commonwealth member states, delivering innovative, youth-centered initiatives including publishing a youth-led supplement with The Voice Newspaper “We are the future: Stories told by local journalists.” She has previously worked at the Public Affairs office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kenya, contributing to the organization of major diplomatic events such as the International Conference on Population and Development (I.C.P .D) and the Africa Caribbean Pacific Summit (A.C.P). At the Ministry of ICT, she played a central role in shaping the Kenyan National Communications Policy. Charity holds a Masters of Law in International Relations and Public Policy from Jilin University, China and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from Daystar University, Kenya.

Driven by a passion for leveraging communications as a tool for change, she has hosted high-level events such as the MotherLand Forum at SOAS University, UK where she welcomed esteemed guests including Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. She has also contributed to dialogues with the UN, African Union and various Commonwealth youth networks, speaking alongside Ministers on key panels. Additionally, she has conducted interviews with various stakeholders including DMA Invest during the UK East Africa Trade & Investment Forum.
