Brenda Mbathi is a visionary African business leader with over 25 years of impact across infrastructure, energy, healthcare, FMCG, and special economic zones. As the inaugural CEO of TRIFIC SEZ, she built Kenya’s first private business-services Special Economic Zone, spearheading investor attraction, tenant mobilisation, regulatory alignment, and high-value strategic partnerships.
Previously, as President & CEO of General Electric East Africa, Brenda led multi-country operations and delivered landmark renewable energy, power, and healthcare projects across the region. She brings deep expertise in investment facilitation, public–private partnerships, government relations, and ESG integration – consistently navigating complex regulatory landscapes to unlock sustainable and inclusive growth.
Her policy and advocacy experience includes serving on the U.S. President’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa (PAC-DBIA), Vice Chair of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), and past President of the American Chamber of Commerce Kenya.
